If you are typing "leveling kit install near me" into Google, you already know what you want: the nose of your truck up level with the rear, room for a bigger tire, and somebody who will do it right the first time. The harder question is who should do it - because a leveling kit is a two-to-three-hour job when a suspension shop does it, and a weekend of frustration when it goes wrong.
Here is what a professional install actually includes, what it should cost, and how to tell a real suspension shop from a place that just says yes to everything.
What a professional leveling kit install includes
A proper install is more than bolting in a spacer. At our shop the job includes the kit itself (we stock ReadyLIFT, Rough Country, Bilstein and more), removal and reinstall of the front struts with every fastener torqued to spec, a check of ball joints, tie rods, and control arms while the front end is apart, and a full alignment after the truck is back on the ground.
That last part is not optional. Changing ride height changes your alignment geometry, period. A shop that levels your truck and skips the alignment is handing you uneven tire wear on tires you have not bought yet.
What a leveling kit costs installed
Real numbers, not "call for pricing": a standard 2-inch puck-style leveling kit runs from $550 installed at our shop - parts, labor, and the alignment included. Strut-style and adjustable kits (Bilstein 5100s, coilover-style levels) start around $750 installed because you are also replacing the strut itself.

Puck kit or strut kit: which one should you book?
Two kit styles cover almost every truck that comes through the door. A puck (spacer) kit sits on top of the factory strut and raises the nose without changing how the truck rides - the right call for newer trucks with healthy suspension, and the reason the from-$550 price exists. A strut-style kit replaces the whole front strut with a taller or adjustable one, which costs more up front but doubles as a suspension refresh - the smarter buy on trucks past 60,000 miles or so, where the factory struts are tired anyway.
You do not need to decide before you call. Tell us the year, mileage, and how the truck is used, and we will tell you which style actually earns its price on your truck - and when the cheaper one is genuinely the better answer.
How long the install takes
Plan on two to three hours for most trucks - drop it off in the morning, pick it up after lunch. Torsion-key trucks (GM HDs) and trucks that need extras like upper control arms take a bit longer. We cover the timeline truck-by-truck in how long a leveling install takes.

Plenty of capable folks install their own spacers. But by the time you rent a spring compressor and pay separately for an alignment, the savings mostly evaporate - which is why even wrench-savvy owners often hand this one off.

2. What brands do you install, and is the kit's warranty backed here?
3. Will you check my front-end parts (ball joints, tie rods) while it is apart?
4. What tire size will clear after the level - on my specific truck?

A real suspension shop answers all five without blinking. If you get vague answers on the alignment question especially, keep looking.
