Chevy Silverado Leveling Kit Guide – Cost, Tire Size & Fitment

If you own a Chevy Silverado and are considering a leveling kit, you’re looking at one of the most effective upgrades for improving both stance and tire clearance.

At Lift Pro Customs in Willis, TX, we install leveling kits on Silverado trucks regularly. Whether you’re trying to eliminate the factory rake or fit larger tires, the setup has to be done correctly.

This guide covers cost, tire size, and fitment so you know exactly what works on a leveled Silverado.

Drive a GMC Sierra 1500 instead? Same platform, same fitment rules — everything below applies, and we cover the Sierra specifics in our GMC Sierra 1500 leveling kit installation guide.

What a Leveling Kit Does on a Silverado

From the factory, Silverado trucks sit lower in the front than the rear. This forward rake is designed for towing, but most owners prefer a level stance.

A leveling kit raises the front of the truck around 2 to 3 inches, giving it a more aggressive look and allowing for larger wheels and tires.

Silverado Leveling Kit Cost

The cost to level a Silverado depends on the kit and setup.

A standard 2" puck-style leveling kit — parts, labor, and alignment included — typically runs $550–$600 plus tax at our shop. Upgraded setups like replacement-strut leveling kits start around $750 and climb with the components you pick.

At Lift Pro Customs, we provide all-in pricing so there are no surprises.

Best Tire Size for Silverado After Leveling Kit

Straight talk from the trucks we set up: Silverados run tighter in the front end than F-150s, so the same tire that drops onto a leveled Ford can take more work on a Chevy.

33s are the clean fit. A 33" tire on a 2" level clears well on most Silverados and keeps the factory ride quality. Go to a 12.5" width and wheel offset starts to matter — factory wheels sit around +27 offset, and swinging to an aggressive negative offset is what causes most of the rubbing complaints you read about.

35s are the "with work" option. On a leveled Silverado, 35s typically mean fender liner trimming, mud flap removal, and careful wheel selection — doable, and we do it, but it is not a bolt-and-go. If you want 35s with no compromises, the honest answer on this platform is a proper lift kit rather than a level.

Setup Fits? What it takes
33x11.5 + 2" level Clean fit Nothing on most trucks
33x12.5 + 2" level Yes Offset matters — mud flap removal / minor liner trim on some
35s + 2" level Tight Liner trimming + careful offset — tighter than a Ford
35s, zero compromises Best with a lift A 3.5"+ lift kit is the no-rub route

Every year, trim, and wheel combo varies — we confirm exact fitment on your truck before anything gets ordered. Run your sizes through the tire size calculator or spec the whole build in the Build Planner.

Wheel Offset and Fitment

Fitment is one of the most important parts of the build.

Aggressive offsets push the wheels outward and increase the chance of rubbing. Tire width also plays a major role, especially when turning or hitting bumps.

At Lift Pro Customs, we make sure every setup clears properly and drives correctly.

Common Issues with Poor Setup

Incorrect setups can lead to rubbing, uneven tire wear, and poor ride quality.

Skipping alignment or choosing the wrong components can cause long-term issues that cost more to fix later.

Doing it right the first time makes all the difference.
